I just came out of Iron Man 3. Just…throw them in the water. Throw them in the water. You’re surrounded by ocean. PUT THEM IN THE GODDAMN WATER SERIOUSLY GUYS. EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.

But overall it was pretty fun. I found out that if you wait for everyone else to leave the auditorium, people actually leave half-full bags of popcorn standing upright on the floor!

I have so much free popcorn now.

Don’t tell anybody.

Also, if you get to the auditorium early, find your center seat and, if the arms of the chairs are movable, stretch your legs out across a couple of seats. You can tell anyone who asks that you’re saving the seat for a friend who will magically not show up for the entirety of the movie. During which time you can shift into a variety of postures and never get cramped or claustrophobic.

The 66-year-old white lady who’s visiting the house I’m looking after had an argument with me about rape a couple of nights ago. She’s the cousin of the woman I’m house-sitting for. She was trying to convince me that when it comes to sexual abuse, “what happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom and is no one else’s business” and that the only kind of rape that exists is spousal rape, and the ultimate solution is to “leave the relationship” instead of reporting it. Also, she thinks that extramarital affairs and the resulting transfer of STDs count as rape.

Like. It was bad enough that she’s racist and hates my tiny, harmless snake and won’t let me put on the air conditioning in 70-80˚ weather. Now she’s telling me that rape ranks lower than shoplifting in terms of importance.

The next day, I got bitten by a dog.

Then I read today that that 5-year-old girl in India died in the hospital from the injuries she sustained while being raped.
